Little Cormorant (locally known as Choto Pankouri in Bangladesh and India). • Plumage: It has almost completely jet-black feathers with a subtle dark bluish or oily greenish sheen across its back and wings. During the non-breeding season, the plumage becomes slightly more brownish, and a small whitish patch develops on the throat.It features a rectangular, flattish head profile that lacks a distinct peak, paired with a short, slender bill that hooks sharply downward at the very tip.Widely distributed across the freshwater wetlands of the Indian Subcontinent—including Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Nepal—extending further east into Southeast Asia.
