Collared Kingfisher

Todiramphus chloris

The bird is a Collared Kingfisher (Todiramphus chloris), locally called Dhola-gola Machranga. It features a greenish-blue crown and upperparts, clean white underparts, a dark mask, and a distinctive white neck collar. In Bangladesh, this tree kingfisher is a common resident found near coastal mangrove forests, tidal creeks, and salt pans across the Sundarbans and coastal districts.
