Little Tern

Sternula albifrons

The bird is a Little Tern (Sternula albifrons), locally called Choto Chaga, seen here with its tiny chick. It features a white body, a black cap with a prominent white forehead, and a sharp yellow bill with a black tip. In Bangladesh, it is a winter migratory waterbird commonly found nesting and foraging along coastal mudflats, sandy riverbanks, and estuaries nationwide.
