Calotes versicolor

The animal is an Oriental Garden Lizard (Calotes versicolor), locally called Raktachush or Gergiti. This tree-dwelling reptile features a spiky crest, a long tail, and can change colors, with males turning bright red-orange during breeding season. In Bangladesh, this highly adaptive, insect-eating resident is extremely common nationwide, seen on walls, trees, bushes, and gardens.
