Dark Grass Blue butterfly

Zizina otis

The insect is a Dark Grass Blue butterfly (Zizina otis), locally known as Kalo Ghas-Projapati. This tiny butterfly features a grayish-brown underside speckled with small black spots, delicate white borders, and an iridescent violet-blue upperwing visible during flight. In Bangladesh, this abundant resident is commonly seen nationwide fluttering close to the ground in grasslands, lawns, fields, and gardens.
